CLEEN Conferences are held by CLEEN members once a year. Members of the network are representatives of national enforcement authorities of the Member States (MS), of states in which the EU chemicals legislation is in force, i.e. Norway and Switzerland and additionally of Candidate Countries which have already implemented EU legislation. Main goal of the Conferences, which are hosted alternately by different CLEEN members, is to ensure a regular information exchange in the field of enforcement of chemicals legislation, also involving other parties like the European Commission, stakeholders and NGOs. Changes and interpretation of chemicals legislation, including the forthcoming REACH regulation, are discussed, particularly with regard to enforcement. Status reports are given about the projects performed under the umbrella of CLEEN and new projects are presented, discussed and decided whether or not to be performed.
