Scope of CLEEN
Since 1999 the scope of CLEEN comprised 7 pieces of legislation, including the Dangerous Substances Directive, Dangerous Preparations Directive, Existing Substances Regulation, Ozone Depleting Substances Regulation, Limitations Directive, Export/Import Regulation and Biocides Directive.
During the 7th CLEEN Conference 12 - 14 June 2006 in Vienna the need for a revision of the scope of CLEEN was discussed as in the meantime other pieces of legislation have either been renewed (PIC procedure) or have come into force (POPs, detergents) which should be also within the CLEEN scope. In a written procedure CLEEN members unanimously agreed upon the updated scope. With the installation of the Forum for the coordination of the enforcement activities of REACH and CLP regulations the scope of CLEEN changed again. CLEEN focuses to the regulations not under the coordination of the Forum.
